We have
put together a wonderful program, for the industry
as well as for the community and general public to
experience: from Opening Night Gala, to exciting Halloween
screenings for kids and the rest of the family.
Opening
Night Gala
The ION
International Animation, Gaming and Short Film Festival will
honor the Emmy Award winning studio DPS Film
Roman, animators of such hits as THE
SIMPSONS and KING OF THE HILL,
for their 20th anniversary at the opening night gala
for the festival, taking place October 28th. The
festival will honor the studio for "20 Years
of Excellence," while the ION Festival gives
birth to its first year.
The opening night gala
will also feature the first-ever Max Fleischer
Lifetime Achievement Award, presented this
year to Fleischer Studios. In future years, this award
will be presented to individuals who have made a monumental
impact in the animation world.
We are honored that ION
can launch itself as a festival by celebrating DPS
FILM ROMAN for 20 phenomenal years of cutting-edge
work. This festival's mandate is to reflect the brilliance
and innovation of just such work. The worlds of animation
and film are rapidly merging with games and ION sees
this convergence as the future of content.
