2004 Festival Competition

ION celebrates the ever expanding worlds of animation and film production as well as highlights their timely convergence with the booming $20+ billion electronic gaming industry.  ION 2004 brings together international independent filmmakers and animators and provides a unique venue for gaming companies to release new products and technologies to eager audiences of early adopters.

ION 2004 will showcase and promote high-quality international shorts – in the form of narratives, documentaries and animation – as well as experimental films, music videos and games by filmmakers and companies from around the world. Screenings will take place at The Culver Studios.

Link TV-sponsored broadcasts will feature international filmmakers speaking with audiences, filmmaking symposiums and interviews with ION's visionary celebrity judges.

With competition screenings and Internet delivery of international short fiction and non-fiction narratives, animations and music videos, Festival winners are featured in ION's DVD film series "Short Circuit".

Short Circuit is annually distributed worldwide to key industry professionals such as studio executives, independent film producers, film agents, film directors, art directors, creative directors, production houses and select members of the press – all of whom are dedicated to discovering talent. ION's Short Circuit series provides Festival winners with the unique opportunity of being screened by industry power brokers in the comfort of their homes or offices.

Companies that have expressed interest and will be receiving Short Circuit are as follows: ICM, CAA, United Talent Agency, William Morris Agency, Sony Pictures, Sony ImageWorks, DreamWorks, Pixar, Disney, Rhythm and Hues, Klasky Csupo, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, TBWA/Chiat Day, BBDO, J. Walter Thompson, Grey Advertising and many, many more to list.
